Dear Parents and Student,
We are excited to welcome our Eagles back for the 2017-2018 school year. As we prepare to welcome our students for
the first day of school, the CRMS counseling office wants to take this opportunity to provide you with information that
can help you and your student during this transition.

**Distribution of Schedules:
Seventh and eighth grade students will receive their schedules on the first day of school in their registration rooms.
Registration room assignments will be posted throughout the school and on the CRMS website prior to the first day of
school. At the start of the day, students will be directed to their registration rooms.
**Sixth grade students will receive their schedules during sixth grade Open House. Schedules will only be distributed to
sixth grade students at this time. Any students who are unable to attend Open House will receive their schedule on the
first day of school in their registration rooms.

**First Day of School:On the first day of school, sixth grade students will be ushered to their first day “registration rooms” by CRMS staff.
For Seventh and eighth grade students, room assignments will be posted on the CRMS website and throughout the building
on the first day of school. Teachers will be present to help students during this transition. Your student will receive the
following in his/her registration room: first day packet, schedule, and locker.

**Lockers:
Please limit your student’s internal locker setup to only a locker shelf if desired. Many of the locker decorations and
products for sale at local retailers take up valuable space in our lockers and cause jams.

**Schedule Changes and Conflicts
The master schedule has been created based on staffing and the original choices of CRMS students. Every effort has
been made to provide your child the opportunity to take their specific combination of desired courses. Change requests
due to an alteration in a student’s original commitment or specific preferences (i.e. classes during a specific time of day,
with a specific teacher, or with a specific friend) are unable to be accommodated.

**Touring the Building
Incoming sixth grade students and new-to-district students have the opportunity to tour the building at Eagle Camp.
Students who are unable to attend Eagle Camp may tour the building on CRMS’ open registration dates. A list of these
dates and times can be found on the CRMS main page on our calendar of events.

**School Supplies
A list of school supplies for each grade level can be found on the CRMS website. http://crms.leanderisd.org/

School supplies can be brought on
the second day of school. For the first day, students will only need a writing utensil and a notebook.
We hope this information helps to answer some of the questions that you may have so you can prepare your student for
the first days of school and have an enjoyable stress-free summer! We are looking forward to another amazing year
and thank you in advance for helping us toward a successful first day.
Sincerely,
Shirley Dean(6th Grade Counselor)
Staci Cote (7th Grade Counselor)
David Rainey (8th Grade Counselor)
